VECCHIA POSTA

Vecchia Posta offers three comfortable appartments that have been restored in traditional Umbrian style:
Torre de Mezzodì, Torre de Ponente and Murata de Archi:

Torre de Mezzodì

Sleeps 5 (plus 1 as necessary). This 76m2 appartment has a spacious dining room with a large fireplace whose chimney breast rises through the landing on the upper floor to its traditional roof of terracotta tiles and wooden beams. A large vestibule on the ground floor leads to the bathroom, it too with its own fireplace. Stairs lead to the landing and two bedrooms with breathtaking views of the countryside. The kitchen and landing both have south-facing windows with views onto the pool, the riding school and the surrounding countryside. Close to the appartment's entrance is a comfortable external terrace.

Torre de Ponente

Sleeps 4. This 65 m2 appartment boasts the property's highest bedrooms, with panoramic views towards Monteleone d’Orvieto and Monte Cetona. A spacious kitchen, once a stable, leads to the entrance and the stairs, at the top of which are two bedrooms and the bathroom. From the kitchen there is direct access to the garden, and a comfortable external terrace, and beyond this, to the pool.

Murata de Archi

Sleeps 2. This 42 m2 ground-floor appartment is romantic and spacious, yet practical and functional. It has an entrance hall/kitchen, and a large bathroom and bedroom whose windows face the rising sun. The bedroom adjoins a relaxation area which leads to the living room. From the entrance hall there is direct access to the garden's comfortable outside living space.

  • Vecchia Posta's origins date back to the 1500s, although it was extended in 1756. Today, its large woodburning oven, which once served the many families who lived here, is more likely to produce the the aroma of delicious roasts.

This building was no doubt used as a resting place for travellers and their animals. Testimony to its past are the terracotta fixtures that have been so cleverly made and fixed into the west facing stone wall and to which horses and donkies would have been tied. Although this building has been restored with great attention to its past, its perfect southern aspect also lends itself to the use of today's solar panels. Central to summer gatherings, the large table under the jasmine-perfumed pergola offers welcome shade close to the pool.
